Welcome to Title I and School Improvement. Title I is a section of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA) that established these programs. It is formula funded based on poverty levels, but the services provided are for students at-risk of meeting Arizona's College and Career Ready Standards in reading and math, so that they can improve their skills, succeed in the regular classroom, and reach grade-level proficiency.
Through the federally funded Title I program, students within the District receive supplemental instruction to insure all students achieve proficiency levels regarding rigorous state standards. Instruction takes place during the school day, before or after school, or during summer programs.
Each school develops a School Continuous Improvement Plan which includes goals based upon multiple sources of data and research-based programs and strategies. Parental involvement is critical for students' success. It is our goal to bring the resources of the home and school together to help our students achieve.
