Letter To Parents

  • Dear Parents and Guardians,

Welcome to the Florence Unified School District Transportation Department! It is our honor and commitment to providing safe and efficient transportation for all of our bus riders. The transportation department is proud to support the district transportation needs of all daily routes to and from school as well as for educational field trips, athletic contests, and tutoring opportunities. We serve all bus riders and activities from two transportation locations.

Our fleet consists of 109 buses, 9 activity buses, 27 fleet vehicles, and 8 utility maintenance vehicles. This fleet is serviced and maintained in our district by our team of four mechanics who take great pride in their excellent DPS record.  They work diligently to keep all of our vehicles up to the highest standard of excellence.

The safety of our riders is our top priority. Our training program requirements surpass the Arizona minimum standards to include monthly student transportation training, and annual refresher instruction.  All of these professional development opportunities support changes and implementations from both the Department of Public Safety and Motor Vehicle Division. All of our drivers hold an Arizona Commercial Driver’s License and  Arizona state Bus Driver Certificate; they must pass annually the Physical Performance Test, and must undergo random and annual drug testing.

Our fleet carries about 5,400 bus riders about 3,780 miles each day, and we are proud to report an excellent safety record. This is the result of the dedicated Florence Unified School District transportation team.

We continue to grow in student population and are always evaluating practices to ensure we are utilizing the safest most efficient tools to transport our students.

Thank you for allowing us the privilege of transporting your children every day. Please utilize Transfinderi link on this page to search for bus stop information by school site. You will also find answers to frequently asked questions, school bus rules, and student transportation organizations.

You are encouraged and welcome to contact either one of our transportation offices with any questions and we will be happy to assist you.
