In accordance with the Arizona Department of Education, Florence Unified School District has received a contract through the Arizona Department of Health Services (ADHS) to provide abstinence education services through the Sexual Risk Avoidance Education Program, Title V State SSRAE. The curriculum adoption program is funded by the Arizona Department of Health Services (AZDHS) serving youth ages 11-19 with a focus on teens ages 15-17.
Who will receive the lessons?
The curriculum and lessons are only for grades 9 – 12.
Will parents have the ability to opt out?
Parents will have the ability to opt – out prior to lessons.
What notice will parents receive about the lessons being taught?
Parents will receive a two-week notice prior to a lesson being taught.
Who approved the curriculum?
Curriculum has been approved by the state and county health department.
Who will teach the lessons?
The Arizona Department of Health Services (ADHS) is the primary facilitators for the lessons.

All curriculum materials are on physical display at the Florence Unified School District Office and may be viewed by making an appointment.
