Hello Bulldogs! It is my privilege to serve as Skyline Ranch K-8’s Principal. For more than 20 years, I’ve worked in Arizona schools helping students and school teams grow and reach new levels of success. I’m grateful to continue that here at Skyline by working together with students, teachers, parents, guardians, and the community.
My work in education began as a classroom volunteer and then as a paraprofessional. After finishing my degree at ASU, I was a junior high special education teacher and department chair for six years with Mesa Public Schools. I then served as an Instructional Coach at a junior high school and later as a Professional Development Specialist at the district level for Mesa. I also worked for the Arizona Department of Education as a coach for various training series in the areas of math curriculum, professional development design, and special education inclusion practices. After completing my Master’s degree in Educational Leadership at NAU, I worked for Coolidge Unified School District for three years as an Assistant Principal in San Tan Valley. For four years, I served as an Assistant Principal at San Tan Heights K-8 with Florence Unified School District and enjoyed new opportunities to grow professionally. In 2020, I moved to Skyline Ranch K-8 as Principal and have enjoyed the special community, welcoming spirit, and focus on growth that helps our students thrive.
There are many reasons why we say, “It’s GREAT to be a Bulldog!” When you visit, you will see that Skyline Ranch K-8 is a supportive environment, with great student opportunities, great pride, and great staff members who are ready to foster a thirst for learning in our students every day. I’m honored to be a part of this Bulldog Family and I’m looking forward to many successes ahead!

Kayla Exley
Welcome! I am Kayla Exley, one of Skyline's Assistant Principals. It's GREAT to be a Bulldog!
This is my 8th year in education and 5th year at Skyline Ranch K-8. As a mom and a leader in education, I know how important it is that students and their families feel safe on campus. This year I look forward to continuing to build meaningful connections with our Bulldog families, creating a space that is both safe and supportive for learning.
In my free time, my family and I enjoy exploring the Arizona wilderness with our 2 dogs, traveling in and outside of the U.S. (our next country is New Zealand!), and caring for our family ranch.
As a partner in your child's education, I look forward to helping make this year a successful one!

Scott Johnson
Hello, my name is Scott Johnson and serving as an assistant principal at Skyline Ranch is a “coming home” celebration for me. I began my career in FUSD at Skyline Ranch and have celebrated the past 9 years within the district. After earning a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Eastern Michigan University, I obtained a teaching position with the Bullhead City Elementary School District. After 5 years of middle school teaching experience, I earned a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership through Northern Arizona University, and transitioned to an administrative role. From there, I worked as a Dean of Students and assistant principal, before taking on the role of elementary principal in the winter of 2017. Working at FUSD has been such a tremendous opportunity and I am grateful for all my experiences in the schools where I have worked.
Being a parent to two boys has given me a lens to see how the K-8th grade journey impacts students and their motivation for learning throughout their educational careers. It is my mission, as an educator and administrator, to instill a passion for learning that goes beyond the classroom and continues throughout life. I want all our students and staff to feel empowered and engaged in their own education. This includes the many extracurricular activities we offer, encompassing a well-rounded educational experience.
I am so excited to be back at Skyline Ranch and to be part of the Bulldog Family. We truly have the best of the best in FUSD. I look forward to supporting the children and families of our outstanding community. Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions, concerns, or “Shout Outs!” to celebrate!
It's GREAT to be a Bulldog!

Kim Jukich
Hello Bulldogs! I’m pleased to continue the journey as Instructional Coach at Skyline Ranch. Over the past several years I have served as a first-grade teacher, Department Chair, and Mentor at Skyline and in the Florence Unified School District.
Before completing my Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education at Northern Arizona University, I had the opportunity to work with students in the Gilbert, Chandler, Tempe, and Kyrene school districts from Kindergarten to 6th grade. Those experiences confirmed my love for the elementary setting and ultimately led me to a first-grade classroom. My time in first grade has given me the opportunity to share my love of books, wonder about the world, and excitement about learning with kids. As an Instructional Coach, I can share my love of learning and teaching with educators.
On campus, I am involved with many school committees that strive to provide support to both students and teachers. The Positive Behavior Intervention Supports (PBIS), Response To Intervention (RTI), Social Emotional Learning (SEL), Guiding Coalition, and AVID teams work diligently to bring together opportunities for growth in academics, interventions, and social emotional skills. I am passionate about the work I do and am excited about making it meaningful to our school community. I am proud to be a Bulldog where we value Growth, Relationships, Engagement, Acceptance, and Tenacity. It’s GREAT to be a Bulldog!
