Although meals are available to all students, they are optional.  Students will have a choice of white or chocolate milk.

Parent Procedures for Signing Students in LATE 8:01-8:30am

    • If your child arrives after the 8:00 morning bell, he/she must report to the MUSIC/BAND ROOM in the front of the school, next to the cafeteria doors.  This room is being utilized for late students instead of the front office so that we can safely distance everyone while assisting with tardy passes and parents signing students in late.
    • Parents may park on the curve in front of the cafeteria, if you will be there briefly to sign your child in.  We will have staff outside the MUSIC ROOM with a clipboard for you to sign your child in.  TARDIES are ONLY EXCUSED if a parent/adult signs the child in.
    • If a student arrives after the 8:00 morning bell, alone, without an adult, the staff on duty will sign them in and note that the TARDY is UNEXCUSED.
      • PARENTS CAN MONITOR DAILY ATTENDANCE BY LOOKING AT THE PARENTVUE APP.  This phone app allows parents live access to their child’s grades, daily attendance and schedule.
      • WB’s policy is for every 3 tardies, students in 4th-8th grade may receive a disciplinary referral and 1 day of after-school detention. Parents will be notified if a disciplinary referral is issued.
      • Parents have the ability to set up NOTIFICATIONS using PARENTVUE that will notify you if your child is marked absent, or has missing assignments.
      • BUS RIDERS- If a district bus arrives late, due to unforeseen circumstances, all bus riders from the bus will NOT be marked tardy. We will ensure they get to class safely.

Parent Procedures for Signing Students in LATE after 8:30 am

    • Parents that drop off their child AFTER 8:30 am, must park your car, bring your child to the front office door.  Walker Butte now has 2 video doorbells.  Please ring the doorbell and sign your child in on the clipboard that is provided.  We will let your child in the front door and give them a pass.  Parents do not need to come inside the front office. Tardies will be marked as EXCUSED if a parent signs the student in.

Picking Your Child Up Early for Appointments before 2:30pm

    • DURING THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC, WE HAVE A TEMPORARY NEW PROCEDURE THAT IS DISTRICT APPROVED.

    • PARENTS MAY CALL AHEAD AND GIVE THE FRONT OFFICE TEAM YOUR CHILD’S NAME AND TIME THAT YOU WILL ARRIVE. The WB Front Office Phone Number is 480-987-5360.

    • The office team will notify your child’s teacher and do our best to have your child waiting for you when you arrive during non-peak times.

    • Please note that our office team is small.  We have PEAK TIMES where the phones are ringing and office lines get long.  K-4 teachers leave their classrooms for dismissal locations 20-30 minutes before afternoon dismissal.  We do not have student assistants during the 2nd quarter that can assist us with finding your child if the teacher has left for dismissal.  We understand how frustrating this can be, especially when parents are in a hurry or have appointments, however, we will not be able to accommodate all requests in a timely manner during high peak times.  Please try and pre-arrange early pick up times with us in the morning time.  Thank you for having patience and understanding with our office team members.  These employees work very hard and do their best to serve everyone that needs assistance. Please be respectful and we will in turn do the same.

    • When you arrive, please park and come to the front office door.  Walker Butte has 2 New Video Doorbells.  Please tell us your name and SHOW YOUR I.D. into the camera.  After your ID is verified, you can sign your child out on the clipboard and we will release your child to come outside to meet you. Please note that we require government issued identification.

    • Please DO NOT utilize the parking lot closest to the front office door and flagpole during BUS LOADING AND UNLOADING TIMES.  It is a “ticketed offence” to pass a parked school bus during loading and unloading times.  Please help us keep students and staff safe. If you need to park your car and it’s just before morning bells or afternoon dismissal, PLEASE utilize the visitor parking lot in front of the cafeteria or park on the street in front of the retention grass area.  Thank you for helping us with keeping traffic flow moving in front of the school and bus zones safe.

    • First Day of School Oct. 6th and after:  New Students should tell the staff member at any entry way door that they are new and our team will help your child find their classroom.  When they get to their classroom, the homeroom teacher will partner them with a buddy who can assist them for the first few days.

    • All FUSD students qualify for the free breakfast and lunch program through Dec. 11th and will be offered these meals daily, which they can accept or decline.

    • MOST IMPORTANT - PLEASE TELL THE REGISTRAR HOW YOUR CHILD WILL GET HOME EACH DAY BEFORE THEIR FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL!  Thank you!  The registrar will communicate this information to your child’s teacher and our PM Dismissal Teams.
